Dr. Nancy Ward’s forte is aesthetic reconstruction with an emphasis on comprehensive dentistry. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1981. She was half time faculty in the department of Restorative Dentistry after graduation and in private practice. She practiced full time starting in 1985 with her husband Dr. Denison Byrne.
Dr. Ward is past president of the Baltimore and Maryland Academy of general dentistry. She served as national membership chairman of the Academy of general dentistry. She completed the programs at the L. D. Pankey Institute and has served as visiting faculty since 1992. She is currently lead faculty for the advanced restorative dentistry course. After serving as part of the foundation advisers for the Pankey Foundation she served on the board of Directors for 10 years becoming the first woman chairman.
Nancy received her fellowship and mastership in the Academy of General dentistry. She was the 9th women to be invited the prestigious American Academy of Restorative dentistry.
She currently serves as Co-director of the Pankey learning groups. As part of the U.S. and Global Invisalign faculty she has the opportunity to train dentist in the US and around the world.
Working with the underserved has long been a passion of Dr. Ward. She was director of the Helping Up Mission program at the University of Maryland for 7 years. They provided funds for the men to be able to restore their smile to aid in employment. She and her husband have gone on may mission trips to Romania and El Salvador. They had the opportunity to educate dentists in Romania while providing dental care.
Her practice focuses not only on cosmetic dentistry but orthodontics and sleep medicine.
Nancy is married to Denny Byrne and they have three children and four grandchildren. She enjoys golf and sailing.
