Dr. Dana Truesdale's journey is marked by academic excellence and a commitment to service. She is a native of Vacherie, Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Dillard University of New Orleans, LA in 1999 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry (Nashville, TN) in 2004. Following this, she completed her General Practice Residency Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

She completed the programs at the L. D. Pankey Institute and has served as visiting faculty since 1992. She is currently lead faculty for the advanced restorative dentistry course. After serving as part of the foundation advisers for the Pankey Foundation she served on the board of Directors for 10 years becoming the first woman chairman.
